Through the generous donations and trusts established by our benefactors, the School of Music offers a range of scholarships and awards to students enrolled in our courses. Students may be required to audition for certain scholarships and awards and successful applicants may be asked to present a short recital at the presentation of the award.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate vocal repertoire student auditioning for the undergraduate program and resident outside a radius of 50km from Melbourne GPO.

Demonstrated financial need and potential to successfully complete the course as assessed by the audition panel

Ron and Margaret Dobell Foundation Music Theatre Award

Amount: $20,000 (awarded as the Dobell Scholarship $10,000 and Prize $10,000 for travel and further study. Intended to be awarded to the same student, but in exceptional circumstances may be awarded to two different students.)
Eligibilty: for a final year student enrolled in Music Theatre VCA.
Criteria:

  • Artistic Merit as demonstrated by specific assessment tasks and continuous assessment and performance tasks.
  • Likely success in completing proposed course of study.
  • Provision of a complete and compelling travel /study itinerary and budget.

Selection: By Selection Committee, comprising Academic Staff and an independent Industry Representative

Sleath Lowrey Scholarship
