All award course VCA students are eligible for assistance through the University of Melbourne.
The University of Melbourne Student Programs are located at the Baldwin Spencer Building (Parkville campus, through Gate 1, off Tim Pan Alley).
Financial Aid is provided to students in the form of student loans, bursaries, financial advice and advocacy.
Short term loans up to $600

Long term loans UP TO $3000
Long Term Loans are designed to assist with study, accommodation and living costs and any other legitimate expenses. Long Term Loans require a suitable guarantor, ie.someone who will personally guarantee that the loan will be repaid.
Repayments on long term loans are not required until after the completion of a course. Interest is not charged before the agreed payment date.
Students are advised to collect a Long Term Loan application form from VCA Student Services as a significant amount of detail is required in order to apply.

Bursaries
University of Melbourne bursaries are non-repayable grants ie. gifts that are given on the basis of financial need.
1.Housing bursary PROGRAM (RENT ASSISTANCE)
The University of Melbourne Student Housing Bursary Program provides financial support to students who live away from their usual home in order to study. Approximately $60 per fortnight is provided to successful applicants for the period of the academic year. Many VCA students are awarded a housing bursary each year. 2.Trust Fund Bursaries
Undergraduate Trust Fund Bursaries
The amount available is not specified, as the fund is divided between successful applicants. For Undergraduates, the amount is approximately $100-$300. The Undergraduate Bursary deadline is early April.
3.Postgraduate Trust Fund Bursaries
For Postgraduate students, Trust Fund Bursary applications occur twice a year. The closing date for the first round is in April and the second round is in August. The bursaries awarded are usually approximately $500.

4.Student with a Physical Disability
A Trust Fund exists for the specific purpose of supporting a student with a physical disability. Students should apply using the same Bursary Application form available online. Applications close early April.
