Qualifications

Cherie Winter received her education at the College of Fine Arts (COFA), University of NSW, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 1993. In 1994 she completed a Graduate Diploma in Art Education and 2001 a Diploma of Multimedia.

Employment History

Cherie has been working as a technical officer, photographic for the University of Melbourne since 2001.

Publications

Since 1996 she has shown regularly in both solo and group exhibitions throughout Australia namely at, the Geelong Gallery, Maitland City Art Gallery, the Australian Print Workshop, Newcastle Regional Art Gallery and Warrnambool Art Gallery. In 2004 she was awarded the Collie Print Trust Victorian Printmakers Scholarship from the Australian Print Workshop. Her work has received awards and grants such as the Outside Eye Award, Fringe Festival, Melbourne, Hunter Urban Division of General Practice Award and the Visual and Craft Artists’ Grant Scheme from the National Association for the visual arts. Winter’s work is represented in the collections of the Australian National Gallery, Charles Sturt University, Maitland City Art Gallery and Newcastle Region Art Gallery. She is represented by Gilligan Grant Gallery, Melbourne.
