Robert is well known for his work with saxophone and interactive electronics. This exploratory work has impacted on his high velocity, textural approach to the saxophone with its shifting timbres and extended technique.
In 1988 he was awarded the 'BP Postgraduate Award' for his work in artificial intelligence in music. This research has ultimately led Robert to the completion of his Ph.D.
Robert has performed in America and Europe in both solo and multi-media performance specialising in music for contemporary dance. In 2005 Robert was invited to perform at the Seoul International Crossover Improvisation Dance Festival held in Korea.
