Ashley Cross has developed an approach to the electric guitar that draws on both jazz and classical idioms but infuses some of his own ideas and feelings about how the electric guitar should sound. His main musical interests lie in the area of small interactive ensembles.

He has freelanced extensively playing both originals as well as the standard jazz repertoire. His playing and compositions can be heard on recordings by Zeno's Wig including Eyes and Instinct and the soon to be released Bare.

Ashley has made a large commitment to teaching and study over the last five years completing his Masters of Music in 1999. Ashley encourages students to find their own path in music based on a clear understanding of musical principles.
