Roger Davies

Roger Davies was born in Llandaff, Wales, and migrated to Australia in 1958. He has performed extensively as a freelance trombonist in most Melbourne theatres and recording studios and has also been involved with various chamber groups and contemporary music ensembles.

From 1966 until 1977 he was Principal Trombone with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra touring twice to North America during this time.

Roger has had a long-standing association with the Australian Youth Orchestra National Music Camp Association, both as a student and tutor. He completed a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Melbourne and after many years of teaching in schools and tertiary institutions, was appointed to the position of Lecturer in Brass at the School of Music in 1994.
