Geoff Kluke commenced his performing career in the late 196Os. His classical double bass training was with John Foster, and his broad jazz and improvisation experience was gained through working with an impressive range of Australian and international musicians including Herb Ellis, Nat Adderley, Barney Kessell, Phil Woods, Mark Murphy, Mickey Tucker, Red Holloway, Charlie Byrd, Eddie Henderson, Ernestine Anderson, Dewey Redman, Don Burrows and Lee Konitz among others.
As a freelance musician he has worked with orchestras, big bands and studio bands playing either double or electric bass. Over the last decade he has become actively involved in education with his students both past and present forming the core of a new generation of fine contemporary bassists.
