Libby Porter completed her Bachelor of Arts in Film & Television at Swinburne Film and Television School in 1992. She attracted her first finance as a Producer through Film Victoria in 1993 for a 30 minute drama. She continued developing her skills working as a Production Assistant, Production Manager, Line Producer and Producer on Music Videos, Corporate Training Videos, Short and Feature Film plus Television Series Drama. In 1995/96 whilst working for December Films as a trainee/Associate Producer and Production Manager, Libby was involved with a wide variety of productions including an International Co-production Animation Series plus FFC, ABC, SBSI, Film Australia and BBC funded documentary. In 1996 she was invited to apply to the Australian Film Television and Radio School where she was accepted into the final year of the then new Masters in Producing. Libby returned to Melbourne in 1998 as Line Producer for Abracadabra Films and continued her work as a Producer moving into feature script development with assistance from the Australian Film Commission. Additionally that year she produced another short narrative through the Cinemedia/Arena Accords. Her films have screened in festivals all over the world and have won numerous awards both nationally and internationally including 5 AFI nominations. Her most recent short film was financed by The Australian Film Commission and won Best Australian Short at the Melbourne International Film Festival 2004. In 2000 Libby was offered the opportunity to design and implement a Non Award Course Program at the Victorian College of the Arts School of Film and Television. Libby continues to manage and further develop a broad range of Non Award options for the school utilizing her industry knowledge and contacts.
