Elliot has an ongoing research interest in contemporary art practice and its relationship to emerging debates in art theory. The continuing production of art works, writing, dialogues and situations forms part of this research and is located around the question - can art practice interfere with the thing that follows late capitalism?
Recent research has focused on the Japanese film director Takeshi Kitano and the philosophy of Deleuze & Guattari and in particular their War-Machine. Here, specific areas of interest include violence, stasis, acceleration, the production of film affect and its potential for agency and the assemblage-edit experienced with particular clarity in Kitano’s work.
Other areas of interest centre on the spatial research found in current visual art, architecture, film and theoretical practices.
Elliot has exhibited in a variety of spaces and contexts in Europe including galleries, film festivals and car parks. He originally studied Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University, England, and recently completed an MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
