Fred Colla graduated from Caulfied Instititue of Technology (now Monash University) with a degree in Fine Art majoring in painting in 1978.
Participated in group or solo shows in public galleries every year since graduation.
Employed as Technical Officer in the painting Department since 1986.
In 2000 established Moor Street Art Gallery and Studio.
