Louise Hubbard's art practice is anthropomorphic by nature, transforming found objects and generous gifts. The 'nature' of training (submission, subordination) is her obsession as are the pedagogical and disciplinary spaces in which subjectivity and knowledge are formed.

"My practice complies with the doctrinaire no cut and paste, look, put, and look again, means to making sense. I choose materials and forms which trigger certain impulses that I then harness into relationships of abstraction."

Whilst Hubbard has a particular fascination with fitting and turning, it is measuring which matters most.
