Mark Stoner has exhibited nationally over the last 20 years in numerous solo and selected group exhibitions. Most recent amongst these have been "Concentricity" at Storey Hall, R.M.I.T. gallery and "Continuum" at Tolarno Galleries. He has been the recipient of several Australia Council grants including an overseas residency at the Verdaccio studio in Italy. He was an invited participant in the 6th Construction in Process, The Bridge, in Melbourne in 1998. He was also invited to an International Artists Residency in upstate New York. He is in the collections of 12 state and regional galleries as well as the National Gallery of Australia.
Over the last two years he has completed several commissions. "Blade", a project in collaboration with Neometro architects on an inner city warehouse refurbishment. "Key", a sculpture project for Parks Victoria at the Alfred Nicholas Gardens in Sherbrook. A collaborative project at the new Melbourne Museum with the development of the "Earth Wall". Finally the completion of "North" at Steampacket Quay, for the City of Greater Geelong. Finalist in the Helen Lempriere National Sculpture Award 2003

On 15 October 2004, the Victorian Minister for Major Projects, Peter Batchelor launched the West Gate Bridge Memorial Park. VCA School of Art Lecturer, Mark Stoner was invited to create a memorial to the 35 men killed during the construction of the West Gate Bridge in 1970 when a steel span on the west bank of the Yarra River collapsed. The sculpture consists of 35 cast concrete pillars and is situated at the intersection of Douglas Parade and Hyde Street, Spotswood.
