Alumni Benefits Update:
New Alumni benefits launched for 2009:

  • The NGV Australia is offering discount entry to Ricky Swallow's The Bricoleur - his solo exhibition on at the Ian Potter Centre, Federation Square from 16 October 2009 until 28 February 2010. To access this offer present this voucher on entry - download Ricky Swallow discount voucher.
  • all alumni can now access the University's most in-demand online journals for an annual fee of $45. This is one of four new alumni benefits launched in response to the initial findings of the Alumni Preferences Survey 2008;
  • discounts on boutique wine from Tallis Wine, owned and run by an alumnus (who will donate part-proceeds of sales to the University's research and education into sustainable food production);
  • discounts on Melbourne University Sports fitness memberships and
  • discounted membership to the Robin Boyd Foundation, part-owned by the University, allowing members to attend and host events at award-winning homes designed by the renowned architect.

In addition to this we have created benefits specifically for all Faculty of the VCA and Music graduates. These include:

Alumni Opportunities
  • The Australian Event Awards are the only opportunity for Australian events, event organisers, products and services to be acknowledged across the entire industry regardless of event type, size or association membership.

    These Awards are a great opportunity to seek recognition and to build your profile in the events industry, therefore we encourage all graduates to consider entering these Awards.

  • 2010 German-Australian Opera Grant - CALL FOR ENTRIES

    1st Prize: a one-year employment contract in Germany with the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden (for the Season 2010/2011) plus 2 months intensive German language tuition at the Goethe Institut in Germany, including a return flight to Germany and $4,000 cash.

University of Melbourne Alumni

On January 1 2007 the VCA became a Faculty of the University of Melbourne. From 2007, all VCA graduates will be known as alumni of the Faculty of the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne. Every past student of the University is provided with access to the benefits and services offered by the wider University alumni network, including the Alumni Web Community.

Alumni Web Community
All University of Melbourne alumni can stay connected and reconnect with friends, classmates and the University via new online services.

The Alumni Web Community means you can:

  • register to be part of the online community - your details will be matched with those on our alumni database as part of the registration process
  • check and update your details on the alumni database (via an interactive web page, rather than via the online form we have now)
  • choose the details you would like to share about yourself with other alumni (e.g. business phone number or an email address)
  • find and network with other alumni via the alumni directory
  • get a University of Melbourne '@alumni.unimelb' email address to use as a forwarding service to any email account you nominate.
