VCA Dance, in the School of Performing Arts, offers Australia’s premier contemporary dance education and training program. VCA graduates are found in contemporary dance companies Australia-wide – Chunky Move, Lucy Guerin Inc., Balletlab, Sydney Dance Company, Tasdance, Leigh Warren and Dancers, Australian Dance Theatre, Kage Physical Theatre and Tracks Dance, as well as overseas companies throughout Europe, the USA and Asia. Many graduates establish careers as artistic directors, curators and producers and as independent artists in a wide range of contexts.

The VCA is situated in the heart of Melbourne’s arts precinct. Students engage in a vibrant and stimulating environment in state of the art facilities in preparation for a career in dance. The intensive, performance-based Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) builds on the VCA’s outstanding reputation for intensive training and attracts highly motivated dancers who are willing to meet the technical demands and creative challenges of the dance program.

VCA Dance graduates pursue career pathways as performers, choreographers, artistic directors of dance companies, collaborators, community dance project directors, teachers, dance researchers and artistic leaders in local, national and international dance communities.
