Environment, health and safety (EHS) management is the practice of ensuring a safe environment for staff, students and the public. This is achieved by developing and implementing appropriate procedures, providing appropriate induction and training for staff and students, and regularly inspecting facilities and equipment for hazards.
The Faculty EHS program is development and managed by the Faculty EHS Committee.
The University's EHS management system is overseen by the EHS Unit. The system is regularly audited in order to comply with two separate standards (SafetyMAP initial level and ISO 14001).
Each UoM faculty is also separately responsible for managing their own local activities in accordance with the safe work policies set out in the Environment, Health and Safety Manual. To achieve this, the Faculty of the VCA and Music has developed its own EHS program (as outlined in this website).
The EHS Incident Reporting module is available under "Environment, Health and Safety Applications", in UoM Staff Self Service on the Themis System.
For assistance with the EHS Incident Reporting module, please contact the University's EHS Unit on 8344 3050.
The Faculty of the VCA and Music EHS Committee is chaired by the Faculty General Manager and meets six times per year. Click here to read the Committee's Terms of Reference and Composition. The Committee reports to the Executive Leadership Group.
