Application to Change Status
This form is completed when you wish to apply to change your candidature from full time to part-time or part-time to fulltime. Note: Changing status will affect your completion date. Scholarship holders should check the condition of their scholarship to determine eligibility and options if they convert to part-time.

This form is completed when you wish to apply to extend your candidature. Extension is only permitted in order to complete your thesis. You will be asked to provide your revised completion date at this time.

Application for Leave of Absence
This is a different process from that used by undergraduate and graduate coursework students.
There are two forms – one for local students and another for international students. Leave can be taken for a short period of time; a semester or a year. Extension beyond a year would require a substantial case to be put by the candidate.
If you wish to take leave from your course and you are in receipt of a scholarship you will need also to apply to take leave from your scholarship. Students are responsible for ensuring that the Scholarships Office is advised of any leave taken via the MS011 Application for Leave from Scholarship form.

Application to Study Overseas/Away
This form is completed when a Research Masters student wishes to apply to undertake study either interstate or overseas. Completion of this form means that you remain enrolled in your course during the period of study taken outside the University. Students who are away during re-enrolment period must ensure that they re-enrol by the due date to ensure that candidature is not terminated. Make sure you keep checking your university email account and keep your contact details up to date.
This type of application has specific University requirements that need to be met before leave will be granted. The Faculty Graduate School can provide advice on these matters. Paperwork should be lodged at the Faculty Graduate School for processing.

Return from Leave
Research students are required to notify the Faculty within 5 days of their return that they have returned from leave (leave of absence or study overseas/away).

Withdrawal from Course
Candidates who wish to withdraw from their Research Masters candidature must complete the Application to Withdraw form.
