Domestic Students

Application closing dates vary between disciplines and courses.

To view information about courses and to download an application form applicants should visit www.vca.unimelb.edu.au/study and select the appropriate discipline (e.g. Art, Dance, etc).

Please note that each of the VCA disciplines has special application/selection requirements. Please make sure that you read all information carefully to ensure that you will be prepared for any audition, interview or pre-selection test.

International Students

Applications for international students close on the last day of October.

Doctor of Philosophy

PhD applications are accepted throughout the year.

Information about how to apply, scholarships and the application form is available through the Melbourne School of Graduate Research website at: www.gradstudies.unimelb.edu.au/

Before lodging an application you will need to identify and contact proposed potential supervisors, providing them with a 2,000 word research proposal that includes a description of the area of investigation, together with an up to date Curriculum Vitae,
including previous qualifications, recent exhibited, published or performed work, details of any experience since graduation which is relevant to the proposed field of research. This will help academic staff determine whether they have the expertise and resources to facilitate study in your proposed field of research.

The PhD application must be lodged with the VCA Graduate School Office, Faculty of the Victorian College of the Arts, 234 St Kilda Road, Southbank Vic 3006. The Notification of Lodgement of Application form is to be sent to the Melbourne School of Graduate Research, University of Melbourne, Parkville, 3010.
