Exchanges

The Exchange Program at the Faculty of the VCA and Music is an exciting and challenging opportunity, enabling students at a University of Melbourne exchange partner to pursue your art form from a new perspective while experiencing a new culture and way of life.
The Exchange Program enables you to study at the Faculty for one or two semesters in an undergraduate (Bachelor) program, depending on the discipline in which you wish to study.

Please note:
• Places are limited and entry is competitive.
• Theatre and Film and Television are not able to offer exchange or Study Abroad.
• It is preferred that studies in Photography within the Art discipline are taken only in the second semester as the studio-based training is greatly enhanced by the larger number of projects conducted in that semester.

Application Timetable
The Faculty academic year starts in early February and concludes in November. The academic year comprises two semesters. First semester runs from early February to the end of June and second semester runs from mid-July to the end of November.

Application and Audition/Folio Instructions
Exchange students must satisfy the Faculty’s entry requirements including talent, academic performance and academic English Language requirements.

All Exchange applicants should
• complete the University of Melbourne online application for Study Abroad and Exchange process at the University's Melbourne Global Mobility webpage http://www.mobility.unimelb.edu.au/incoming/apply
• read and, where applicable, complete the relevant International Undergraduate Supplementary Admissions Information Sheet
(go to http://www.vca.unimelb.edu.au/international and click on Application Form and Supplementary Admissions Information)
• provide, with the application form, all folio or audition material required and the relevant supporting documentation as listed in the application and supplementary form.
• read the relevant Exchange Information Sheet and provide all additional documentation with their application, as listed on this Sheet.

Application deadlines
• Semester 1 (February-July) applications are due by 1 November of the previous year
• Semester 2 (July -December) applications are due by 1 April

Faculty of the VCA and Music students are eligible to apply to the University of Melbourne's exchange program for one semester during the second or third year of their undergraduate degree. Places are limited and may be subject to change.
