Master of Fine Arts (by research)

The Master of Fine Arts offers you the opportunity to engage in independent research in your field of artistic practice. You will complete a thesis compromising a written dissertation or a combination of creative work and written dissertation to the equivalent of 40,000 words.

Features

The degree provides cohort training in research methods, contemporary artistic practice and theories of arts and culture while enabling students to develop individual mastery in their chosen field of practice through an extended individual project.

Pathway to Further Study

At the successful completion of this degree students will be eligible to apply for PhD studies. Alternatively, in consultation with their supervisors some students may apply to convert to a PhD at the end of the first year of study.
